ARTEL is a group of professional artists who collaborate to exhibit their work whilst establishing a dynamic community. Working in the South Downs area, each artist has developed a unique and informed practice. The artwork from this covers a rich and diverse range of subjects and media shared through an annual show in Chichester at the Oxmarket Contemporary gallery.

Oxmarket Contemporary Gallery

New work was created within the context of the artists ongoing practice that also considered this theme. Research resulted in final pieces that were provocative, playful, and profound, in drawing, sculpture, and painting.Polly Dutton BA (Hons)
Title A
Polly Dutton’s abstract realism paintings blend tangible landscapes with abstract forms, creating a visual dialogue between reality and imagination. Inspired by nature, her ‘en plein air’ sketches lay the groundwork for studio pieces that merge realism with abstract textures, emphasising the interplay between the seen and unseen.
The new series, ‘Fragile Sky’ explores the fleeting beauty and vulnerability of the atmosphere, where clouds become metaphors for change, memory and impermanence. Through observation and abstraction, the series quietly reflects on our changing climate and the uncertain future of the skies we know.
Polly trained at Birmingham School of Photography, University of Chichester and Newlyn School of Art.
She has exhibited widely throughout the UK including Mall Galleries in London. Polly is represented locally by Kevis House Gallery in Petworth and The Little Art Gallery in West Wittering and was the first Artist In Residence at Parham House and Gardens which resulted in her solo show at the House.
